Hi guys
I can safely say thats the end of raiding for us as a self sufficent guild for The Burning Crusade.
From such a terrible start in TBC I can say we did well. When i took over as GM in March 07 the guild was in a sorry state. Much worse than at present. We had people leaving left right and centre. Interest was at an all time low and there was divided opinions on the direction the guild should take. Some of the officers were burned out and some didn't want to be officers (Popsicle/Rolfsauce, oh how the irony!! :lol)
At the point I had moved location and job and there was a lot of uncertainty if I was even the person for the role.
But slowly we managed to turn it around. One thing that is true is that if enough people stick togther through all the shit, then you will emerge stronger on the other side. I've seen it often enough before when such crisis hit us. Sadly we lack those people now.
We managed to get into raiding SSC before they lifted Attunements which I am proud off. The pain in the ass of having to do Nightbane and Gruul when both were challenges. We had our struggles, but in the end we nailed Vashj. I think for all of you who were there, it was a huge adrenaline rush and the most memorable moment for me personally in TBC. That last 10% of phase 3 had the pulse racing. For me nothing beat it in TBC.
Then the huge road block that was Kael'Thas in TK. The guild somehow stuck together long enough to bring him down. That 6 week period before him was not easy, with people quitting over lack of progress etc. This sorted the quitters from the those who would make it happen. I felt more relief than anything at that point, rather than elation.
I am particularly proud of the fact we cleared MH and BT before attunements were lifted. You see these guilds doing it now and it doesnt seem anywhere near like an acheivement. We were hamstrung by recruiting restrictions then but again we stuck together and did it. It makes me laugh when during the months we were progressing through BT and MH some folks had their heads stuck so far up their own asses they could not see how difficult it was to recruit at this point. Attunements made it very difficult and on such meagre resources we had to make do with what we had. The officers were well aware some peole were not up to the task, but there was ltttle we could do in terms of recruitment. You don't cut of the left hand to spite the right hand.
As usual the summer came about and it looked like we had done enough. Of course it was never going to be plan sailing. Football chamopionships, the usual swedisah mass afk, and some prize drama whores kept it interesting. But we kept ticking over. It always seemed however we were that one class or person short needed to beat Brutallus. And I admit that was disappointing. Some of the people who jumped ship recently need to look at themsleves closely......you's had the opportunity to beat Brutallus and you would not take it.
Strangely it was August that was out downfall. I suppose an unlucky combination of reallife events took it's toll on the guild, especially the officers. Also we had some real bad eggs of recruits who stirred up so much of a poisonous atmosphere. One person in particular was stirring it up until we had rush of guild quits over it. The result left us several people short. And from there it snowballed.
But by now, so many have simply thrown in the towel that we can not raid 25 man raids. I'd like to thank you guys for your efforts over the past year or so.
I'd also like to say thanks for putting up with me. I know you probably thought some of my ideas were baffling...hmmm...some...probably all!!!
It took me a long time to settle into the role and impose my ideas on it. I inherited a guild that was based on a different ideas and slowly I changed it to what I wanted. I made many many mistakes along the way and looking back I know now what I should have done. I've been Guild Master for a year and half and I feel the guild needs a new voice. A fresh approach. So I intend to step down certainly for WolK. The guild needs new foucs and direction and I'm not sure I can provide that.
A special mention to the following people who helped make being in Meta such a great expereince and who contributed greatly to our success
Indaria, Pickles, Drakar (though ninja'ing the guild bank was not a success), Lutheramex, Drizztdo, Buffman for being pro, Wizza nearly as pro!, Karmar, Starkad, Kwah, Bullen, Zorell for being shit on the Lurker, Wrend, Uroxen, Baltazaar, Glaskopft, Eland, Chadwokie for being Stryker's only buddy, Zog, Klasseko, Seth,....gawd...so many more, don't feel dissappointed if i left you out!
The good ship Meta will take a rest until Wolk. It's been a great journey and one I enjoyed and I hope you all enjoyed.

The evil posession by Sathrovarr has ended, Kalecgos is corrupt no more!
After some quite decent tries which failed by taking down the demon too fast (!) thus banishing demon, while the dragon was on 16% which was somewhat suboptimal.
What we did was making sure they went down simultaneously which first gave us a 2% wipe (sadface), but soon after would finally banish them both, even with full raid alive.
Brutallus is up next, and we sure will deal with him brutally!

The betrayer has fallen, his taunting and gesturing could not hold us back from going medieval on him.
After having spent 3 raids to perfect the first 2 phases we only had slight issues with positioning in phase 4 mainly, with a couple of wipes at 31% following.
This time we settled for no less than a kill, so once taking him into his fifth phase for the very first time, we couldnt really let him get away with it. First phase 5 = First kill!
Congratulations everyone in Metamorphosis who contributed in taking us this far, we couldnt have done this without you!
Game over for now, but those bloodelf whispers keep chanting:
"Remember the Sunwell..." |

The council has finally been overthrown, illidans last line of defense has been breached!
Long fight, almost as long as our initial kill on morogrim, but we lived through it (with one healer offline). What at first seemed to be pretty tricky regarding avoiding all the aoe, surviving deadly poison and interrupting as much as possible through those annoying bubbles, we eventually adapted and their health started to slowly tick down.
With a evil heal getting through at 5% we almost thought we'd be over with, but we kept the focus on and took them down!
(too bad about the loot though)
Illidan, you're next! Say your final prayers, for we are prepared! |

Enhancement Shaman Resto Shaman With patch 2.4 almost upon us we will consider outstanding applicants who are not attuned to Black Temple or Mount Hyjal. We expect new recruits to read up on encounters they are unfamiliar with, as well as coming prepared regarding food buffs and flasks/elixirs. |
